The application of laser die-cutting

Currently, laser die-cutting is mainly used in packaging, commercial adhesives, labels, greeting cards, cultural and creative products, and other fields.

Most of the early printing companies that used laser die-cutting were complex and personalized products, and traditional die-cutting could not meet the final requirements. They purchased laser die-cutting equipment from manual platforms to meet the requirements. However, this type of product has high labor costs and low production efficiency. Especially when large-scale die-cutting is required, multiple laser die-cutting treatments need to be performed at different positions of the same product.

Nowadays, the application field of laser die-cutting has transitioned from small area and single laser to larger area and multi laser fields with higher requirements. The perfect combination of digital technology and laser technology enables seamless connection between laser die-cutting machines and digital printing equipment, achieving automation and digitization of the entire laser die-cutting process. The current application status of laser die-cutting equipment for customers is as follows:

1. Small surface laser die-cutting products
The roller label field adopts single laser and flight mode laser processing. Suitable for processing labels with complex contours, different shapes, and surface die-cutting.
Small laser cutting machines such as gift cards often use manual processing mode, and some customers use single laser intermittent platform processing. Suitable for cutting and processing small cardboard and watermark products.
Small surface laser die-cutting generally uses intermittent automatic platforms or flying automatic platforms, continuously feeding paper, greatly reducing manual labor intensity and cost.

2. Large area laser die-cutting products
The laser die-cutting of large-area self-adhesive plates and large-area packaging products often uses multiple laser flight automatic platforms. The entire process of paper feeding, indentation, laser die-cutting, and paper receiving is automatically completed. This type of laser die-cutting equipment has been purchased and used by multiple packaging and printing enterprises in China.
From a technical perspective, laser die-cutting needs to improve its core technology. The core technologies mainly include laser speed, spot size, laser control technology, and laser software technology.
